PROJECT 1A

The object that I have chosen to draw for this project is an ox skull. There are some similarities between me and ox skull which would be a serendipity to represent myself. When it comes describing the first impression of an ox or a bull, the impression a person gets from it normally could be stubborn and determined. Like a stubborn ox, I will take my stand and persist in what I think is right. Even if everyone is telling me that something wrong is something right, I would stand in defiance and never blindly cater to what people's needs.
It also seems to be a spirit animal to me that put me on firm footing, that is why I drew it in symmetrical balance. When I find myself struggling with taking direction, it shows me how to accept that yoke and continue until that job is complete. No matter what obstacles that I will be facing now, I will realize my goal with determination like how an ox does.
What really makes me think that ox skull is different from anything else is its connotation of death in some cultures and tradition. But for me it does not signify death or ending, it could be a celebration of a new life to me. It reminds me trying to figure out what it is like to move on after I have given myself a chance of rebirth. This may be the last time for me to explore myself and start a new journey, so there is a motto that I wish to keep in my mind - the hardest part of ending is starting again.
